Owners, Housing Developers In N.Sembilan May Register For Strata Ownership Titles From Today

SEREMBAN, March 16 (Bernama) - Effective today owners and housing developers in Negeri Sembilan can register for issuance of their strata titles specifically for condominiums, apartments and flats.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the registration was important under the Strata Ownership Act to facilitate businesses related to mortgages, ownership transfers and others in future.

"Registration can be done, effective this evening. Owners of older units can deal with the corporation management while those with new ones can refer to the land office for the registration process," he said.

He said this to reporters after chairing the State Executive Council meeting here, today.

In another development, Mohamad said Negeri Sembilan would have a contingent of 362 athletes for the Malaysia Games (Sukma) and targeted to be among the top five.

"Most of our athletes represent the country, so we hope they will contribute medals to the contingent.

He said the selection this time was quite tight, and on this premise, Negeri Sembilan would not take part in some events contested.

"We are not taking part in some events. This is because based on the screenings that we conducted there are events in which the athletes failed to achieve certain standards. We do not want our athletes to be thrashed," he said.

At the 2014 Sukma, Negeri Sembilan won 18 gold medals, 26 silver medals and 24 bronze medals.
