11 year-old gives birth, grandmother in shock

An 11-year-old girl has become possibly the youngest mother in Malaysia, The Star Online reported today.

It said the girl gave birth to a boy at a private clinic near Bahau, Negri Sembilan, this morning.

Her grandmother, who had brought her to the clinic for "abdominal pains" was in shock, said Jempol OCPD Supt Hamzah Alias.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl lived with her parents in Bahau. We are investigating the matter," he said. – August 5, 2015
