The Johor Fire and Rescue Department has called off the search and rescue (SAR) operation in parts of Sungai Pulai in Ulu Choh here for a missing man.
This followed an operation that started at 9.30pm yesterday.
The team could not determine if the missing 32-year-old man, identified as Kelvin Goh Ching Lee, had fallen into the Sungai Pulai river.
A Johor Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the SAR operation ended at 5pm today.
“The case of the missing person has been handed over to the police as the SAR team failed to find any clues on the man’s alleged drowning in the Sungai Pulai river.”
Earlier yesterday, the department received a distress call at 9.08pm following claims that a man was feared to have drowned in the river in Ulu Choh.
A team from the Pekan Nenas fire station was quickly dispatched to the scene. A SAR team was assembled at 9.30pm to look for the victim, using surface searching techniques.
