Next By-Election may happens in Negeri Sembilan!

The Seremban High Court today declared Lenggeng assemblyman Datuk Ishak Ismail (pic) a bankrupt, paving the way for another by-election.

The Star Online reported that the 64-year-old Umno man was declared broke by the court's senior assistant registrar on March 18 after he failed to service a loan from businessman Datuk Misran Sukadi.

When contacted, the news portal said the third term assemblyman confirmed the matter but said he was only served the court order on April 27.

"My lawyer has submitted an application to set this aside and the matter will be heard at the High Court tomorrow," he reportedly said, adding he had stood as a guarantor for a contractor who took a loan from Misran.
Meanwhile, The Star Online said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who is also state Umno chief said that Ishak’s status as an assemblyman remains until his appeal is heard.

"We will call him (Ishak) up, but at the same time, we find that he has made an appeal.

"So when the appeal is made within the time allowed, we have to postpone any decision until the appeal has been heard and a new decision is reached at the court," he told reporters after chairing the State Exco meeting at Wisma Negeri in Seremban today. – May 13, 2015.
