BAGAN SERAI (Perak): Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia (PR1MA) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP) to develop PR1MA housing projects in identified strategic areas, especially in townships around the state.
During the exchange of the MoU, PR1MA was represented by its chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias while PKNP was represented by its CEO
Datuk Aminuddin Md Desa.
The event was witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak here today.
Abdul Mutalib said PR1MA housing project in Perak was in line with the planning and the need of the people in the state.
“PR1MA has so far has approved five development projects in Perak with private local developers. The projects are situated in Slim River, Pengkalan Aor, Sungai Pari, Kampung Paloh and Bandar Meru Raya,” he said.
He said through the projects, some 3,220 houses would be built in areas which are located near public infrastructure and amenities.
He said PR1MA also planned to build recreational fields, surau and community halls in the areas in the effort to provide a holistic and comprehensive lifestyle for the people.
Earlier, Najib was given a one-hour briefing by the Perak State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) on development projects in the state.
In the briefing, UPEN also urged for the implementation of 41 projects worth RM4.5 billion previously pledged by the federal government. This include the Pulau Pangkor Free Tax Zone project, Seri Iskandar Hospital, Selama Mara Training Institute and upgrading of the North-South Highway at Gua Tempurung and the construction of a layby for users to enjoy the scenic view at Lata Kijang waterfall in Tapah.
The prime minister was later taken on a boat ride along Tasik Bukit Merah to visit the Orang Utan Island which is one of the state’s tourist attractions here.
